Everyone understands that the advertising of medicines should be done in good faith, especially in order to: 1. encourage the rational use of medicines by presenting them objectively, without exaggerating their properties; 2. ensure that they possess beneficial effects that correspond to those listed in the summary of product characteristics (SPC), which is a determining reason for promotion; 3. prove that the advertising given is not false. The paper contains a detailed analysis of the causes of the emergence and evolution of advertising of medicinal products, the various advertising models applied in the Republic of Moldova and the changes that have occurred over time, the mandatory elements that, according to the national and Community legal framework, must be used in the advertising of medicinal products for human use. Knowledge and understanding of the role and limits imposed on the advertising of medicinal products by existing laws and regulations will contribute directly to increasing the responsibility of all those involved in the medical-pharmaceutical act.
